Global ExpresS Authorized Payment Locations 

On Feb. 8, 2010, Washington Gas will begin providing a new option for our customers to make payments by cash for their natural gas bills. Washington Gas has partnered with Global Express Financial Services ("Global Express") to provide authorized payment locations for customers.

As the authorized walk-in payment provider for Washington Gas, Global Express will accept cash payments only for Washington Gas bills at 297 authorized payment locations throughout Washington Gas' service territory: the District of Columbia, Maryland and Virginia. These locations will accept both residential and commercial gas account payments.

In addition, 14 of these locations are "fee free" so that the customer will not be charged a convenience fee to make cash payments on their Washington Gas account. Global Express is the only authorized walk-in payment provider for Washington Gas. When making a payment, the customer should ask the agent to use the Global Express system to take their Washington Gas payment. Washington Gas can only verify payments made through the Global Express system. Payments made through other walk-in payment services cannot be verified in real-time.

Customers making payments at authorized payment locations (other than the 14 "fee free" locations) will be assessed a convenience fee of $1.50 per transaction. This fee is paid directly to Global Express and must be paid in cash at the time of the transaction. No portion of this fee is shared with Washington Gas.

For customers who are subject to disconnection or require reconnection, they must call the Washington Gas Customer Service line at (703) 750-1000. The customer must provide the payment authorization number, their service address and account number to Customer Service representative. The representative will verify the payment and can either stop service termination for the next business day, or place a reconnection order. Payments received between 2 p.m. the prior day and 2 p.m. on the current day will be credited the same business day. Payments made after 2 p.m. will be posted the next business day (excluding Saturday, Sunday and holidays).

Your check is not returned, and your payment receipt and bank statement serve as proof of payment. To opt out of the check conversion program, please call 1-888-862-4422.then option 1. Have your 10-digit Washington Gas account number available.
