Qualifications and Application Process

Washington Gas‘ policy affirms that diverse suppliers shall have the maximum opportunity to participate in the performance of contracts that reflect their qualifications and expertise. Prime Contractors shall agree to practice this policy to the fullest extent in the awarding of subcontractors, in a manner that is consistent with the efficient performance of the respective contract.

Washington Gas' general qualification standards address whether prospective contractors can perform in accordance with the company's contract terms. In determining whether a contractor possesses the capability to satisfactorily perform the work, Washington Gas will consider several distinct aspects of the prospective contractor's business structure.

A prospective contractor must have:

• Adequate financial resources to perform the contract.
• Ability to complete the contract work on time, within the established budget and in a satisfactory manner.
• Facilities and equipment necessary for production and construction or the ability to obtain them.
• Organizational experience, accounting, operational controls, and technical skills.
• Ability to obtain required licenses and permits prior to the beginning of the contract.

Application Process

Certified diverse vendors interested in registering for future sourcing opportunities at Washington Gas should:

• Be certified by a third-party agency as a minority, woman or service disabled veteran business.
• Complete the vendor registration form.
